Sports Injuries and Prevention
Sports massage is aimed at minimising inflammation and soreness pre or post activity.
Lighter, longer strokes are used to increase circulation, which in turn flushes out toxins and helps to promote your body’s natural healing process.
Accompanied with stretching, muscle energy techniques (MET) and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), this technique aims to lengthen the muscles, which assists in improving performance, increasing the range and quality of movement, and preventing injury.
This is done by reducing the scar tissue and adhesions associated with muscle injury, which will help to improve muscle tone and reduce pain.
Sports massage is used on both elite athletes and anyone else that participates in any form of sporting or leisure activity, from the weekend warriors to the occasional gardener.
If you suffer from recurring pain during or after exercise, or you have suffered a specific sports injury, you will benefit from Sport Massage.
